A total of 18 young researchers participated in a three-phase field survey of rangeland biomass and cover under supervision of Justin Van Zee from USDA, ARS-Jornada Experimental Range.

    At the national level, we have signed cooperation agreements with the governors of 18 aimags to develop rangeland management based on pasture user groups/herder groups. The agreement includes provisions to recover and prevent rangeland degradation and develop pasture user groups/herder groups, cooperatives and soum/aimag associations between 2017-2020 jointly.

    National Federation of Pasture User Groups of Mongolia (NFPUG) has been made a contract with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on 23 Feb2018 in order to implement the ‘’Pastoralists Driven Data Management System project’’ through 18 Aimag Federations of Pasture User Groups in nationwide. The main goal of project is to strengthen the capacities of pastoral organizations in data collection and analysis and in information management.

    The “Mongolian Sustainable Textile Industry and Eco-Label” project was implemented by the Mongolian National Federation of Pasture User Groups (MNFPUG), Agronomes et Vétérinaires Sans Frontières (AVSF), the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association (MWCA), the Center for Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP), Implemented by the Environment and Security Center of Mongolia (ESCM) and the Mongolian Banking Association (MBA).     The Secretariat of the State Great Hural (Parliament), the United Nations Development Program, the Green Gold-Animal Health project, SDC and the NFPUG have announced a scholarship program to strengthen Citizens Representative Hural. A total of 19 rangeland management projects were selected to finance the grant. These projects were implemented to support the establishment and development of pasture user groups in the target aimags and soums, the development and implementation of rangeland use plans and procedures, and the conclusion of rangeland use agreements.

In addition to the Speaker, members of the State Great Hural, members of the Government, officials of the Office of the President of Mongolia, relevant ministries and agencies, the Chairman of the Citizens' Representatives Hurals of 21 aimags, the Head of the Food and Agriculture Department, and a total of 850 herders and farmers participated in the discussion.
