Sustainable wool and cashmere production trainers prepared

The engineers and advisors from the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association have completed a training of trainers on sustainable wool and cashmere production and received their Certification of Completion. The Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association is now powered by expert trainers specialized in the fields of sustainable production standards and management principles, environmental and social criteria, and requirements for sustainable production techniques and technologies.

In the times when the responsible sourcing and the environmental and social commitments of the producers are in the spotlight and the demand for sustainable products is growing, the transformation of the textile sector towards sustainability is crucial and has become an inevitable element for company’s success and a more sustainable future for the industry. The main role of sustainable wool and cashmere trainers is to help producers learn sustainability practices and adopt them at the company policy level. Furthermore, it will be an instrumental input to the development of Mongolian sustainable cashmere production.

The training was led by the tutors from the German Center for Sustainable Consumption and Production and the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, within the initiative of the “Sustainable Textile Production and Eco Lab” project funded by the European Commission and implemented by the AVSF Mongolia.
