In order to expand cooperation in supporting the sustainable development of the livestock sector, improving livestock breeds and genetics, protecting animal health, promoting sustainable pasture use, and strengthening herders’ livelihoods, Mongolian National Livestock Breeders Association, Mongolian National Veterinary Association, and Mongolian National Federation of Pasture User Groups signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/14e5WndA9ep/
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by G. Deeshin, Executive Director of the Mongolian National Livestock Breeders Association; B. Ganzorig, President of the Mongolian National Veterinary Association; and N. Gankhuyag, Executive Director of the Mongolian National Federation of Pasture User Groups.
Under the framework of the memorandum, the parties will cooperate in promoting science-based management within the livestock sector, improving livestock quality and productivity, protecting animal health, reducing pasture degradation, and strengthening resilience and adaptation capacity to climate change.
The parties also agreed to expand cooperation through jointly organizing training, advisory services, and experience-sharing activities aimed at strengthening the capacities of local herders and professionals, developing policy recommendations and initiatives, and collaborating on national and international projects and programs.
This partnership is expected to make an important contribution to strengthening an integrated livestock sector system based on herder participation, while aligning Mongolia’s traditional livestock husbandry practices with modern science and the principles of sustainable development. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/14e5WndA9ep/
