Mongolians have a miraculous nomadic heritage that is unique to the world. Along with its rich and worldly history, the nomadic civilization festival celebrates the value of family, community, tribal and national traditions along with the country’s heritage, loyalty, trials and struggles, upbringing and ethics.

On May 22, 2017, the Mongolian National Federation of Pasture User Groups (MNFPUG) and the Khuvsgul Pasture Users Group (KPUG) organized a Pasture Users Consultative Convention.

The "Green Gold and Livestock Health" project and the Mongolian National Federation of Pasture User Groups (MNFPUG), in cooperation with Khangain Sor LLC, carried out a week-long vocational training program for handmade yak and sheep wool products in Arvaikheer soum, Uvurkhangai aimag. 15 women, selected from herder communities in the soums of Arkhangai, Uvurkhangai, Bayankhongor and Khuvsgul, attended the training.

At the initiative of Mongolian National Federation of PUGs, the first National Rangeland Forum was held between 27-28 September. The main objective of the Forum is to create a national platform to provide opportunities for all relevant stakeholders to exchange experiences and ideas, and promote best practices to ensure sustainable use of Mongolian rangelands.

The engineers and advisors from the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association have completed a training of trainers on sustainable wool and cashmere production and received their Certification of Completion.

“LANDex training on land governance assessment and monitoring” was organized in Ulaanbaatar. Representatives from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan participated in the Asian Regional Training, organized by the Green Alliance for Environment and Development on May 21-22 with the support of the International Land Coalition (ILC). The training provided an overview of the Land Governance Monitoring Index data, expected results and objectives, an introduction to Land Governance Monitoring, indicators and methodologies, and information on data sources, global and national levels.

The State Great Hural, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation's Green Gold and Animal Health Projects held a national discussion on "Creating a Legal Environment for Rangeland Use and Protection" at Government House. is organized. In addition to the Speaker, members of the State Great Hural, members of the Government, officials of the Office of the President of Mongolia, relevant ministries and agencies, 850 representatives of the Citizens' Representatives Hurals of 21 aimags, heads of Food and Agriculture Departments, herders and farmers participated in the national discussion.
