In the scope of Pasture Management and Climate Change Adaptation Component, a total of 144 herder groups (PHG) has been organized; agreed on a three-year rangeland management plan by an inclusive integrated approach, and series of training on rangeland management and risk management for herders and government officers and specialist of soum level are provided.

Through the Green Gold-Livestock Health Project funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the distinct qualities of Mongolia’s nomadic livestock products have been digitally certified. The measure is aimed to improve the competitiveness of the products in foreign and domestic markets by enhancing the processing of livestock commodities.

The Pastoralist Knowledge Hub (PKH) brings together pastoralists and international actors to integrate pastoralism and pastoralism-related matters into international policy dialogue.

Online meeting was organized Regional Support Group (RISG) of “Central Asia & Mongolia” for International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP) on 21 Dec 2020. For this meeting total of 16 people participated involving central Asia pastoral alliance members from Kyrgyz, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and other professional organizations working in rangeland management.

Initiated by the Mongolian National Federation of Pasture User Groups (MNFPUG), a survey was conducted on December 9-13 to identify and assess the current situation of herders in soums with challenging wintering conditions.

This “Memorandum of Understanding” (MOU) between the Khas Bank, Green Gold and Animal Health project of the Swiss Agency of Development and Cooperation and National Federation of Pasture User Groups of herders is signed to define the roles and responsibilities for collaboration on the pilot project in Chandmani soum of Hovd aimag from 01.02.2019 to 30.10.2020.
